Education has always been a top priority in my hair journey. I began as a student at Paul Mitchell school in Costa Mesa before completing the educator’s training program in Texas. I enjoyed the experience so much I went on to teach for the Paul Mitchell school in Sacramento.

I personally have always had a passion for learning. As a Paul Mitchell student, I was accepted to every program and team I could apply for. As an educator my students would often tell me that I gave the want to know, nice to know and need to know information. I worked my way through all levels of cutting and color certifications with Paul Mictchell and hold certifications in texture, Olaplex, Brazilian Blowout and disinfection/sanitation. I am also certified in Habit method extensions, IBE method of extensions, JZ Style method for extensions which includes beaded weft, machine weft, hand tied weft, seamless wefts, tape ins and clip ins.

Paul Mitchell is our brand and we take pride in being a Focus Salon. The Paul Mitchell family encourages an environment of culture, artistry, creativity and balance. We also love Paul Mitchell’s commitment to animals and the environment. When I was a student with Paul Mitchell I earned my way to an educational event in Las Vegas and was thrilled to meet John Paul DeJoria (the guy with the beard that is the face of Paul Mitchell). He was exceptionally kind and showed real compassion to all the staff, students, and professionals that supported this event. On stage, he gave a touching speech where he thanked all of us for supporting the brand and guaranteed that Paul Mitchell would never sell out to other companies, drug stores, or non-professional avenues. I knew that a brand that was loyal to our industry was a line that I wanted to support for my business and we have been loyal to Paul Mitchell since opening in 2009.

All of the products we have in the salon are of the highest quality and we don’t offer services we don’t truly believe in. We have certifications in sanitation/disinfection, cutting methods, color techniques, Olaplex, smoothing treatments and extensions; we never stop learning. As a team our goal is to make sure that any service you ask for, we can offer with confidence and deliver with perfection.

Interlude the Salon was founded in March 2009. I was 5 months pregnant with my daughter laying the floor down creating our new home to play hair. The name came from my Grandfather’s restaurant and piano bar called Interlude, which opened in San Jose in 1957. I was honored when my Grandmother gave me permission to use the name for the salon, keeping the Interlude name in our family was important to me. I brought the official business papers for Interlude the Salon to my Dad and he was shocked to see we’d be setting up shop on Third Street in Livermore. The original Interlude was on Third Street in downtown San Jose and we both thought that was such a cool connection to my Grandpa.

I envisioned the salon being an extension of our home and our guests an extension of our family. We provide a place where you feel good walking out of the salon not just because of how you look, but because of how you feel. You are not simply another person coming in for a hair appointment, we are focused on giving you the best hair experience. When you’re at Interlude the Salon, you’re part of the family.

I have been fascinated with hair for as long as I can remember. I couldn’t wait to graduate high school before beginning cosmetology school and enrolled in a program allowing me to attend beauty school and finish high school simultaneously. After getting licensed in 2007, I continued my education and earned my associates degree in business. I have been a part of the Interlude family since 2009. I love the team, the education that expands my skill set, and keeping the guests in the salon happy. I am always excited to share the latest trends and techniques and my ultimate goal is to have you leave the salon happy with your hair. I enjoy working with the whole family and am confident if you need a cut, color, extensions or smoothing treatments I have you covered. I hold certifications in Brazilian Blowout, Olaplex, hand tied/machine and tape in extensions and take several classes throughout the year including cut, color and styling.

I have been a hairstylist with Interlude the Salon for the past 5 years and have 18 years of cut, color, and styling experience. I began my journey as a fashion student and quickly discovered my passion for style and creativity was better put to use doing hair. I decided to attend Dublin Beauty College and graduated in 2002. I use my knowledge of fashion as a foundation for the styles I create for my guests. I hold certifications with Locs hair extensions and tape ins, Brazilian Blowout, extensive training with Toni and Guy and was an educator for them as well. I love the creative outlet when doing hair; giving my guest the cut or color they dream of is my ultimate goal.
